Moorpark Road to be Closed

A portion of Moorpark Road will be closed for two months beginning after Labor Day.

Starting Tuesday, there will be no traffic allowed between Santa Rosa and Moorpark Roads at the north end and Moorpark and Olsen Roads at the south end.

The project is expected to cost $1.5 and will repair the pavement, improve drainage, add a guardrail, and create a new turn lane into the YMCA.

The city council suggest using Highway 23 as a detour during the consturction.

“To do it safely, we have to close the road,” said Mark Watkins, public works director for Thousand Oaks. “So we’re just going to close it and get it done.”
